EXA Congratulates Thales Canada for Winning the MWAV IV Contract
The EXA Consulting Group (EXA) congratulates Thales Canada Inc. in its joint venture bid with Thales Australia (Thales), for winning the long-term $450M Minor Warship and Auxiliary Vessel (MWAV) In-Service Support (ISS) contract for the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). Thales won the RCN MWAV contract through a competitive procurement.
The RCN MWAV fleet comprises about 100 ships in 24 classes, including the Kingston Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels, the Orca-class training vessels, and others.
Thales is already the supplier for the $5.2B Joint Support Ship (JSS) and the Arctic Offshore Patrol Ships (AOPS) ISS contract, called the AJISS program. EXA led both Thales’ AJISS proposal in 2017 and its MWAV IV proposal in 2022.
